Description
The mature Ceylon Cinnamon leaves are picked for the extraction of Ceylon Cinnamon Leaf Oil. The mature cinnamon leaves are left to dry for 3-4 days at the field under the natural light, and then processed with the hydro steam distillation. The main constituent of Oil of Cinnamon Leaf is Eugenol.
Cinnamon leaf oil can be used as an additive in soaps and a flavouring to seasonings. When used in aromatherapy — diffused, applied topically or added to your bath water — it can have health-promoting effects. Just remember that it can be a skin irritant, so it’s best to dilute with a mild essential oil or mix in your favourite cream, lotion or shampoo. Here are some ways to use cinnamon leaf oil for your health and in your home;
• Use it to clean your fruits and vegetables. With its strong germicidal properties, cinnamon leaf oil works as a non-toxic natural disinfectant.
• Use cinnamon leaf oil as an insect repellent – Studies have shown that Cinnamon Leaf Oil may even be more effective at repelling mosquitoes than the toxic chemical DEET.
• Gargle as a mouthwash or use to gain relief from toothaches.
• Cinnamon oil is used in aromatherapy.
• Add it to your shampoo to kill head lice
